The boom in domestic tourism has prompted a ‘massive increase in calls’, with more than 3,000 being received on the operator’s busiest days.
It claims bookings through travel agents have risen by more than 50% over the past two weeks.
Richard Carrick, Hoseasons chief executive, said: ‘The combination of uncertain economic times and a weak currency means that many Britons are rediscovering the exceptional value and high quality of holidaying in the UK.
‘Our travel agent partners are sharing in the boom in UK holidays that is taking place this year, and we are now taking these steps to make sure we are ready to deal with this increased demand.’
Hoseasons employs 250 staff at its Lowestoft headquarters and takes more than a million Britons on holiday every year.
